Sharon Schmidt

Meet Sharon Schmidt, award winning recording artist, Wisconsin native, jazz vocalist and songwriter.

Once you’ve seen one of her performances, you’ll end up loving her warm smile, energetic emotion and interpretations of the great jazz standards.

Her credits:
Nominated for the Shephard Express "Best of Milwaukee 2006 Readers Choice poll for Best Jazz Artist"

Was honored as jazz vocalist at the Art's Alliance Organization in November of 2006.

Won the WAMI CD Roulett award for her artistry in her new CD, "Dancing In the Kitchen" which led to a performance at the Milwaukee Summerfest.

She is influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, Diana Krall , Keely Smith and the tunes of Nat King Cole.

An earlier start in her singing career was put aside temporarily as she raised her family but now she is back in full swing and working with various local bands in the Milwaukee, Waukesha area.

Currently, Sharon can be heard at the Red Mill in Brookfield, WI, The Twist'n Olive in Delafield, the Golden Mast on beautiful Okauchee Lake and you can catch her at this year's Milwaukee Italian Fest with the Joe Zarcone trio.

Sharon completed her long awaited first CD called "Dancing In The Kitchen" which was released in November 2005, and won the Spring WAMI CD Roulette award. In it the strong muscianship of Sam Steffke on keyboard, Tom McGirr on bass, Tom Utschig on drums, Tim Bell on sax and Tony Gorenc on jazz accordian compliment her traditional jazz versions of "Tenderly", "I Thought About You" and others where she renders her smooth and smokey vocals.
